HARRODSBURG A preliminary hearing for Bryan Tolliver, girls' basketball coach at Harrodsburg High School, who is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, has been set for 9 a.m. March 11 in Mercer District Court, where he appeared Monday morning.
Tolliver, who also teaches physical education in the Harrodsburg school system, has been suspended with pay from his teaching and coaching positions pending the outcome of the investigation of the case and any litigation that might ensue, H.M. Snodgrass, superintendent of Harrodsburg Independent School district, said earlier this month. Tolliver was released on bond from the Boyle County Detention Center early on Feb. 4.
Tolliver, 32, of 111 S. Greenville St., waived formal arraignment Monday. Mercer District Judge Jeff Dotson said, "Mr. Tolliver and I have a past friendship and still do, I think," and asked both the defense and prosecution if that presented any problem for them if he continues to hear the case. Representatives of both sides said that would not be a problem.
