Boyle chorus to perform in honor choirs

Twenty-seven Boyle students will perform in honors choirs this weekend.

Two Boyle County High School singers have qualified through audition to perform Saturday in the American Choral Directors Honor Choir in Nashville, Tenn.

Brittany Stillwell and Rianne Marcum were chosen from more than 600 students residing in eight southern states.

They will join 250 honors students who will rehearse for three days musical selections in a variety of global languages.

Twenty-five students have qualified through audition for the Central Kentucky Music Educators Association Honors Choir.

It will perform 7 p.m. Friday evening in Hiram Brock Auditorium on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond.

Boyle County students performing with 150 students from throughout central Kentucky include soprano, alto, tenor and bass.

Seventh and eighth grade choir members include Holly Davidson, Carmen Cabrera, Megan Cain, Rebecca Bausum, Kelsey Stillwell, Amanda Rice, Bret Marshall, Hunter Monroe, Chad Blackwell, Cameron Finchum, John Anderson and Zane Morgan.


Sixth grade choir members are Ashtin May, Leah Martin, Hannah Staub, Elizabeth Dodds, Catie Meyer, Ashley Whitehouse, Gina Long, Danielle Von, Robin Estes, Michael Tharp, Mathew Greenleaf, Justin Clarkson and Andrew Hicks.

Dr. Donald Donaldson of Asbury College, and Laura Bevins-Wilson, Morehead State University will conduct the choirs.

Nancy Ward teaches choral music at Boyle middle and high schools.
