Two injured in traffic accident

GRAVEL SWITCH - Two people were injured Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident on U.S. 68 three and half miles east of here, state police said.

Driver Lowell Greer, 41, of Lebanon, was flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. His passenger, Anna Cummins, 30, of Perryville, was admitted to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Trooper David Smith said Greer was driving east on U.S. 68 and as he went into a curve at a high rate of speed, the 1991 Saturn slid out control, overturned numerous times and came to rest on the left side of the road. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.


Casey man faces drug charges

LIBERTY - Todd Pittman 36, of Middleburg, was arrested Saturday in Yosemite on a warrant and drug charges, state police said.

Pittman was charged with possession of marijuana and prescription controlled substance not in original container. Trooper Greg Brown also executed a warrant from Boyle County on Pittman charging him with theft by unlawful taking more than $300.

Pittman was taken to Casey County Detention Center.

Poplar Springs firefighters respond to blaze

LIBERTY - Firefighters were called Friday night to a fire that destroyed a garage in the Walnut Hill community off U.S. 127 five miles south of here.

The garage was owned by Becky Wesley.

Poplar Springs Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene; however, no other information was available.
