EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Lyndsey Neal of Danville had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead Bellarmine University to an 80-57 win over Wisconsin-Parkside in its first round game in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
The Boyle County High School graduate, who recently scored her 1,000th career point, shot 64 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line. She also had two assists and 2 steals in 26 minutes.
Bellarmine, seeded second in the tournament, is on a nine-game winning streak and is ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region.
Neal reached the 1,000-point mark on Feb. 21 and is currently leading Bellarmine in rebounds (8.1) and field goal percentage (.550) and averaging almost 15 points per game.
