BP Matters - 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Boyle County Health Department by the Boyle County Diabetes Coalition. Dr. Finley Hendrickson will discuss why blood pressure control is important and new guidelines for diabetics. Free blood pressure checks will be performed. GED Classes - Danville Adult Education and Literacy Center, room 208, Danville High School, is offering individual instruction to learn to read, prepare for GED or improve writing, reading and math skills. Open five days a week. Call (859) 238-1303.

Lifeguard and CPR Recertification Classes - Begins 9 a.m. March 27 at Thomas gym at Kentucky School for the Deaf. $15 each or $25 for both classes. Bring books and resuscitation masks. Also, lifeguard class April 17, 18, 19, 30 and May 1 and 2. Participants must be 15 by April 17 and show proof of age. Register 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Medicaid Nurse Aide Class - 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. April 5-28, each Monday, Wednesday and Friday the first three weeks and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the fourth week, in the Flexner room at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Enrollment is limited to the first 14 people who pay the $450 enrollment fee, which includes a book and workbook. Participants must have a high school diploma.
