I feel very proud that we have a legislature that has the courage to submit a gay-marriage ban to our state constitution. I do not feel that there is any "gay bashing" intended in this legislation. In the letters that I have seen, all that are pro gay-marriage seem to agree that homosexuality is a lifestyle that they have chosen. To deny scriptural references to homosexuality, it seems to me, is to deny the very premise that our forefathers intended for this country.
The gay community has chosen their lifestyle and do not want to face the consequences of their choice. Rather, they want everyone else to conform to theirs.
Again, I praise the representatives who have chosen to take a stand.
On a lighter note, the comment was made that legislators were there to govern, not argue Bible precedent. The comment was made that adultery should be punished. This is a Bible precedent. If adultery were punishable by law, it could be several politicians who would also suffer. This might not be a bad thing.
