Danville firefighter Stephen King resigned Monday after pleading guilty last month in Boyle District Court to charges of terroristic threatening and assault.
King, 50, of 602 N. Third St., was originally charged with one count each of wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening and aggravated assault after Joyce Pelkey, no address given, swore out a complaint against him Jan. 29 with Boyle County Deputy Sheriff James Wilcher.
Pelkey alleged that King held a loaded semi-automatic pistol to her head and neck for more than an hour while driving. She said in the complaint that he pulled her hair and threatened to blow up her house and everyone in it.
She said King told her he possesses knowledge of chemicals that would enable him to cut her body up and dispose of the evidence so that she would never be found. She said King struck her in the face with his fist and head-butted her at her house.
