Woodlawn Elementary School's academic team won the regional Governor's Cup competition Saturday in Wilmore.
The school won the overall trophy after finishing first in the team future problem-solving competition, third in the team quick recall tournament, and earning four first-place finishes in individual subject-area tests.
Woodlawn's team won with 39 cumulative points. Camp Dick Robinson Elementary School in Garrard County scored 21 for second in the competition, which included schools from Boyle, Garrard, Jessamine and Mercer counties.
Hogsett Elementary finished fourth overall, placed first in the quick recall tournament, and won the sportsmanship award.
Danville and Boyle County students earning ribbons for their academic teams included:
Woodlawn: Jennifer Harris, first in math and fourth in social studies; James Ross, first in science and third in math; John Stone, third in science; Ramla Ijaz, first in language arts; Dowell Harmon, first in arts and humanities.
