CAMPBELLSVILLE - Five people accused of criminal syndication involving thefts from vending machines in Casey, Taylor and Washington counties were indicted last week in Taylor County.
Thomas A. Johnson, 40, Brant L. Lane, 26, and Melinda Lane, 27, all of Campbellsville; James D. Stotts, 44, of Columbia; and Kimberly M. Curry, 23, of Greensburg, are accused of being part of a theft ring that took money from the machines, according to an article in The Central Kentucky News-Journal in Campbellsville.
Johnson also was charged with possession of burglar tools and being a persistent felony offender. Stotts and Brant Lane were charged with being persistent felony offenders.
The defendants are accused of conspiring with others to steal money from 32 vending machines in 32 businesses in Taylor County, and five each in Casey and Washington counties.
