I, along with many members from my church, Fairview Baptist in Lincoln County, recently went to the Danville theater to see "The Passion of The Christ." It was not a movie that I really wanted to see, but rather, a movie that I felt, as a Christian, I should see.
How does one say a movie like this was good? How does one say a movie like this is one a person enjoys? While I was literally drained after watching "The Passion," I was impressed with the production and the biblical authenticity. Sure, there were events in the movie that are not biblical, such as Mary picking up Jesus when He fell as a young boy and then her telling Jesus in the street when He fell on His way to the cross, "I'm here!" Another incident was when He was making the table and washed His hands before eating, then splashed Mary with water. Mary's and Jesus' relationship was, after all, mother and son. Mel Gibson portrayed this relationship in his production. Not biblical - but it does not matter.
