Bartleson wins Reno's Sweet Sixteen Contest

March 15, 2004

Danville's Bonita Bartleson not only knows her high school basketball, but she also understood the importance of making her picks early in the Reno's Sweet Sixteen Contest.

Bartleson correctly picked 10 of the 16 team boys team that won regional championships and beat two other contestants with the same number right because of the earlier postmark on her entry to win two lower arena tickets to this week's state tourney in Rupp Arena.

Danville's Kathy Ponsoll and Harrodsburg's Pat Sheperson both also had 10 winners picked, but each contestant entered the contest later than Bartleson.

All three contestants with 10 right had the correct winners in Regions 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 16. Bartleson and Ponsoll also each picked East Ridge to win the 15th Region while Sheperson picked Rockcastle County to win Region 13.
