LANCASTER - A Berea man and a woman are in jail on suspicion of having materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Christopher Spoonamore, 23, was arrested late Sunday when Lancaster Police Officer Roy Gambrel allegedly found 23 packs of Sudafed and 13 packs of unidentified white pills. Also arrested was Melissa Spoonamore, who refused to give her age or address.
Gambrel pulled over Christopher Spoonamore on South Paulding Street after the 4-foot, 11-inch driver failed to dim his headlights.
A search of Spoonamore's 1989 Geo allegedly turned up a small bounty of contraband. Gambrel said pills were hidden under the dashboard, stuffed between seats, behind a panel that housed the car's radio and in a brown purse. Also found, he said, was a hypodermic syringe with suspected methamphetamine residue.
Melissa Spoonamore was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession and having materials to make methamphetamine.
Both Spoonamores are in Lincoln County Regional Jail.
