As warmer weather approaches and joggers take to the streets, my main concern is the safety of all involved. My 5:30 a.m. drive to work takes me from the east end of town to the industrial park area. Along this drive, I encounter several joggers.
My major concern is that many of them choose the street lanes as their jogging course. Sixty to 75 percent of them also choose to wear dark, non-reflective clothing with shoes that only reflect from the rear, and yet they are jogging facing traffic.
At 5:30 a.m., you are focused on the road ahead, not the ground. God has helped me watch for them every morning, and I pray for their safety.
