Now that the criminal activity taking place in the Patrician Place neighborhood has escalated to the seriousness of a rape, maybe the Danville Police Department and codes enforcement officer Tom Broach will start to finally take notice. That whole neighborhood has been allowed to become a slum.
Officer Broach in his recent letter to the editor encouraged Danvillians to make sure they take in their trash cans the same day as trash pickup or face jail time. Trash, junked vehicles and all kinds of unsightly clutter regularly litter the roadside in that neighborhood and nothing ever seems to be done to clean it up.
I personally have been a victim of crime that is flowing out of that area into the peaceful and clean neighborhoods that are adjacent to Patrician Place, so I can speak from experience. That area needs to be cleaned up and the criminal element that is taking over Patrician Place needs to be locked up. Let's see Officer Broach start concentrating on the things that really matter and quit wasting everyone's time chasing down the horrible criminals who forget to take their trash cans inside because they are too busy cleaning up the mess in their driveway after a real criminal breaks into their car or house.
