HARRODSBURG - A Mercer County man was shot in the leg early Sunday as the result of an alleged domestic dispute, according to a preliminary investigation by state police.
Mercer County sheriff's deputies responded to a shooting complaint at 2:25 a.m. at the 795 Kennon Road residence of Brent Gibson. Deputies found Gibson with a gunshot wound to his left leg and then called the state police for assistance. Gibson was flown by medical helicopter to University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, where he was treated and released, state police said.
Initial results of the investigation determined that Gibson's wife, Dana, allegedly had shot him during a domestic dispute, state police said. No charges have been filed; the investigation, led by state police Detective Christopher Crockett, is continuing.
State police did not release information about the kind of weapon used in the shooting or the ages of the parties involved.
