Local club gets money for herb garden

The Garden Club of Danville has received a $500 challenge grant from the Garden Club of Kentucky. The local club will match the grant and use the funds to plant an herb garden near Grayson's Tavern.

The local club will design, construct and maintain the kitchen herb garden at Grayson's Tavern in Constitution Square State Historic Site. A dedication is planned at the competition of the project.

Book fair scheduled in Garrard

The Garrard County Adult Education Program, Garrard County Migrant Program, and Garrard County Community Education Program, along with Usborne Books, are co-sponsoring a spring book fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Garrard Adult Learning Center on Crab Orchard Street. Cash, check or purchase orders are accepted. Each child a will receive a goody bag.

Perryville Community Development Council forum - 7 p.m. Thursday at Perryville community center. Citizens are invited to input their concerns and ideas at an open forum.

Danville City Commission - 5:30 p.m. Monday at city hall. Agenda includes budget workshop calendar, personnel policy amendment and contract items.

Gate Way Park public forum - 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gate Way Park, Liberty. The meeting is being held to get input on the future of the park.
