Liberty woman indicted in alleged stabbing

LIBERTY - A Liberty woman was indicted Monday on an assault charge stemming from an incident in April 2002, according to records in Casey Circuit Clerk Craig Overstreet's office.

Judy Anderson Bryant, 37, is accused of stabbing Jesse Bryant with a knife.

The grand jury also indicted seven others on various charges:

* Mark E. McElroy, 36, 225 Denson Road, Liberty, third offense driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving while license revoked or suspended for DUI, no insurance, second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault. The assault charges stem from incidents on Jan. 17, when McElroy allegedly caused serious physical injury to Donna Turpin and Austin Rayborn by means of a deadly weapon.

* John D. Luttrell, 46, 1595 Patsy Riffe Ridge Road, Middleburg, third-degree burglary. He is accused of entering an office at Hickory Hills Market, owned by Shelton Bailey, and taking more than $300 in cash.

* Terry D. Leach, 32, 986 Padgett Road, Waynesburg, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. He is accused of taking a hay tedder valued at more than $300 from Tracy Elliott on Jan. 15 or 16, and possessing methamphetamine. He is under a $5,000 bond.


* Donnie Smith, age address available, theft by unlawful taking or disposition. He is accused of taking control of the hay tedder that belonged to Tracy Elliott. His bond is $2,500.

* Jamie C. Tillett, 31, Hustonville, three counts of third-degree forgery. He is accused of forging $600 in checks on Carles and Wanda Tillett at Farmers Deposit Bank of Middleburg in December and January. His bond is $7,500.

* Misty Sharp, age and address unavailable, theft by unlawful taking or disposition. She is accused of taking property from Check-4-Check Inc. valued at more than $300. Her bond is $1,500.

* Larry W. Wolford, 44, 22 Alexander Drive, Danville, flagrant nonsupport. He is accused of owing $8,587 in support as of Feb. 28.

All will be arraigned April 26 in circuit court.
