Mercer County Grand Jury indicts 13

HARRODSBURG A Mercer County man has been indicted on numerous charges related to incidents on March 16 during which he allegedly damaged two homes, including the one in which he lived, assaulted two people, burgled another home and threatened to kill two people.

Charges against Greg Black, 21, of 1280 Brewers Mill Road are:

* One count of second-degree burglary for illegally entering the home of Randall Keith Reed.

* Two counts of terroristic threatening for threatening to kill Reed and Linley Yeager Major.

* Two counts of first-degree criminal mischief for causing more than $1,000 damage to the homes of Reed and Ronald Black at 1280 Brewers Mill Road, the same address listed as Greg Black's residence.

* Two counts of fourth-degree assault for assaulting Major and Ronald Black.

Three young Mercer County men were indicted for the theft of an automobile engine from the Harrodsburg Center of Kentucky Tech on Tapp Road on Jan. 24. Blake Bailey, 18, of 2193 Mackville Road; Ryan Eldridge, 19, of 311 Cedar St.; and Dustin Mann, 18, of 530 Blue Grass Drive, are charged with one count each of theft by unlawful taking of $300 or more. At the time of the theft, police reported the engine was valued at $1,500.


Rodney Samuel Durham, 31, of 444 E. Factory St., has been indicted on four drug charges related to crimes he allegedly committed on Feb. 14. Durham is charged with possession of methamphetamine precursors, first offense trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The indictments say Durham had lithium batteries and Sudafed tablets, two ingredients used to make methamphetamine, and possessed cocaine with the intent to sell it. The grand jury charged he also had marijuana and scales and baggies in his possession, and he was charged with speeding.

The Mercer County Grand Jury indicted eight other people when it met Wednesday. Following are the names of those charged, their ages, addresses and charges filed against them:

Marsha Jane Roy, 35, of Tabler Avenue, is charged with first-degree theft of a controlled substance for allegedly taking lortab from Waldine Gray on Nov. 20.

Thaddeus Gensis Yulee, 38, of 309 W. Lexington St., is charged with fourth offense or more of driving under the influence of intoxicants, third offense or more of driving with a suspended license, and having an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. These offenses occurred on Feb. 13, the indictments state.

Robert Shumate, 25, of 1251 Mundy's Landing Road, is charged with theft by deception of more than $300 when he allegedly obtained $1,000 from James Thompson in exchange for a check drawn on Lawrenceburg National Bank on Dec. 18, 2002.

Robert Wayne Stinnett, 55, of 2905 Perryville Road, was indicted on charges of second offense suspended license, fourth offense or more of DUI, failure to give proper signal, failure to produce a liability insurance card, and no seat belt. The indictments state the offenses occurred on Feb. 14.

Two men, Donald Neal Jr., 36, of 700 Bellows Mill Road, and Christopher Robin Whitt, 30, of 1099 Jackson Pike, are charged with flagrant non support for failure to provide support for their minor children.

Jason W. Lake, 20, of 470 Gritton Road, is charged with third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking of $300 or more. The incitements charge that Lake entered a building owned by Curtis Wilmott and took tools and equipment owned by Wilmott Construction on Jan. 31.

Evarado V. Castillo, 28, of 1375 Bohon, road is charged with first-degree robbery for allegedly causing physical injury to Clemente Gonzalez Vazquez while committing a theft from Vazquez on Feb 1.
