Chris Vanoy

Chris Vanoy, 25, of East Meigs Lane, Junction City, died Saturday at home.

Born Sept. 28, 1978, in Danville, he was the son of Leland Vanoy and Helen Russell Vanoy, both of Junction City.

He was a produce manager at Kroger, a 1996 graduate of Boyle County High School and he played guitar.

Other survivors include his wife, Rebecca Reecher Vanoy; a daughter, Kalynn Vanoy, at home; a brother, Brian Vanoy of Stanford; and grandmothers, Elnora Vanoy of Moreland and Bessie Russell of Casey County.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Best. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Chad Sinkhorn, Buddy Reecher, Kevin Withers, Jeff Cuddie, Eric Hamilton and Barry Sinkhorn. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Vanoy, Chuck Butler, David Reeves, Jeff Sanford and Steven Holland.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

William P. Mitchell

PERRYVILLE - William Purdom Mitchell, 74, of Mitchellsburg, died Saturday at his home.

Born Feb. 6, 1930, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late R.L. and Zora Purdom Mitchell. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mitchellsburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Leffew of Mitchellsburg; a sister, Hope Worthington of Mitchellsburg; and a brother, Robert Mitchell of Mitchellsburg.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Curtis Allen and Pat Chamberlain. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

Joseph Edwards

LIBERTY - Joseph Edwards, 61, of Liberty, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born May 21, 1942, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Beckham O. and Sadie G. Edwards. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include five sons, Anthony, Joey and Chad Edwards, all of Liberty, John Edwards of Hustonville and Tim Edwards of Danville; two brothers, B.J. and Gerald Edwards, both of Liberty; three sisters, Imogene Edwards of Flagstaff, Ariz., Elene Cravens of Liberty and Linda Tobin of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Edwards.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Edwards. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.


Hollis Judd

LIBERTY - Services for Hollis Judd, 88, of Yosemite, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Christian Church by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery with military rites by Casey County Funeral Squad.

He died Saturday at Liberty Care Center.

Born March 10, 1916, in Judd, Ky., he was the son of the late Thomas and Lucy B. McQueary Judd. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II, and a deacon and member of Mount Olive Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Bray Judd; a brother, Coy "Jiggs" Judd of Yosemite; and three sisters, Deva Williams of Liberty and Bobby Ross and Gladys Murphy, both of Cincinnati.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home and after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
