Carl Brent Helton, 23, 1985 Danville Road, possession of marijuana, 60 days, probated; possession of drug paraphernalia, $50.

Gene Randolph, 66, Lexington, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, $300 and six months.

Brandon Stivers, 19, 173 Old Danville Road, harassing communications, $100 and 10 days, jail sentence probated.

Christopher G. Devine, 19, 1340 New Dixville Road, DUI with defendant less than 21 years old, blood-alcohol content .051 percent, $200 and six-month license suspension; first offense driving with license suspended for DUI, $100 and 30 days, credit for time served, balance of jail sentence probated; one headlight, merged with other charges.

Billy Jack Frederick, 31, 635 W. Broadway, second offense driving under the influence of intoxicants amended to first offense DUI, $210 and 120-day license suspension; no operator's license, 40 days, probated;, improper registration plate, $20; no insurance card, $1,000, $500 probated; one count of no seatbelts, $25; no registration receipt, no registration plates, and failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, dismissed; possession of a cancelled or fictitious operator's license, second count of no seat belts and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, merged with DUI charge.


Jock Edward Black, 18, 521 Bowman St., third-degree burglary, a felony, amended to misdemeanor burglary, 12 months, credit for 6 days served, balance of jail sentence probated.

James D. Watts, 43, Lexington, alcohol intoxication in a public place, $25; two counts of failure to appear, $100 and 10 days on each charge, credit for time served.

Carlo Simpson, 19, 1014 Mackville, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, 12 months; five counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, amended to attempted criminal possession of a forged instrument, 12 months; misdemeanor receiving stolen property, 12 months; credit for 11 days served; remanded to jail to serve remainder of jail sentences.

William Stanley Watts Jr., 39, 111 S. Greenville St., Apartment No. 2, fourth-degree assault, 60 days, credit for 2 days served, balance of jail sentence probated.

Douglas Walter Williams Jr., 30, 830 N. College St., No.152, four counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, 180 days on each count, to be served consecutively, and $100; jail sentence probated.


The following cases have been held to the Mercer County Grand Jury:

Steven W. Carrier, 47, third offense DUI and third offense driving with license suspended for DUI.

George W. Middleton, 30, 4535 Lexington Road, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and failure to comply with sex offender registration.
