James O. Selby

James O. "Jack" Selby, 85, of Boyd Avenue, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

Evelyn H. Cotton

LANCASTER - Evelyn Hurt Cotton, 91, of Hurt Lane, died Saturday in Lancaster.

Born Oct. 19, 1912, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Polly Joseph Hurt. She was the widow of Ira Glenmore Cotton.

She was one of three members of the first graduating class at Camp Dick Robinson High School and received a teaching degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She began her teaching career at a one-room schoolhouse in Hamilton Valley and continued it at several schools in Garrard County, most of them in Paint Lick. She received "Teacher of the Year" honors before retiring after a 30-year career. She was a member of Kirksville Christian Church and was an active member and program director of the Christian Women's Fellowship and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.


Survivors include two daughters, Sue Janet Metcalf of Bowling Green and Sharon Hamilton of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Donald Graham. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be David Cotton, Harry B. Barker, Darrell Logan, Gary Hamilton, James Schooler, Brian Atkins, Brian Whitaker and William Hensley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Barnes, Cecil Tussey, Carl Turner, Jeff Hamilton, Noal Cotton, Woodrow Cotton and Harry Lee Cotton.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today.

Barbara D. Haggard

LIBERTY - Barbara Dean Haggard, 61, of Apostolic Ridge, Liberty, died Sunday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born April 8, 1943, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the later Earl and Laura Ellis Haggard. She was a bookkeeper and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two aunts, Dorothy Richards of Cincinnati and Nannie Hudson of Dunnville.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifton Cowan. Burial will be in Green River Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Clements, Jim Wilson, Mike Erwin, Tim Erwin, Harlan Parker and Benjamin Buck.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Carl Woodall

BLUE RIDGE, Ga. - Carl Woodall, 67, of Morganton, Ga., died Sunday at his home.

He retired from Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Co. after 35 years of service. He was a member of Wilscot Baptist Church and a graduate of Ferguson High School in Pulaski County.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Woodall; a son, Rick Woodall of Kennisaw, Ga.; two brothers, Carl Woodall of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Curtis Woodall of Orange Park, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Holder of Somerset and Nancy Bradshaw of Stanford; and a granddaughter.

Services were today at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home by the Rev. Clinton Hughes. Burial was in Kingston City Cemetery, Kingston, Ga.

Pallbearers were nephews.

Donald C. Belcher

Services for Donald Councel "Donnie" Belcher, 49, of Lebanon Road, Parksville, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parksville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Hisle. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.

He died Sunday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born Sept. 19, 1954, in Danville, he was the son of Ruth Burton Belcher of Parksville and the late Councel Belcher. He was a maintenance technician at Matsushita and a member of Parksville Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Boyle County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was a Boyle County volunteer firefighter, serving as lieutenant and secretary-treasurer of Engine No. 3. He was a co-captain and secretary-treasurer of Parksville Rescue Squad. He was a pilot, scuba diver and charter member of the Red Knights motorcycle club.

Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Dexter and Mike Belcher, both of Danville; a sister, Phyllis Belcher Taylor of Danville; and a special friend, B.J. Richards of Liberty.

Pallbearers will be R. Byron Humphrey, Shawn Belcher, Jeff Taylor, Larry Belcher, Happy Belcher, Buss Belcher, David Clem and John Feather. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews, Boyle County firefighters and Parksville Rescue Squad members.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to a charity of one's choice.

Wanda L. Bugg

Services for Wanda Evelyn Landers Bugg, 78, formerly of Hustonville Road, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Melvin Holmes. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Webb, Jeremy Noland, Steven Landers, Gary Brown, David Landers and Richard Suss. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Telephone Pioneers.

She died Saturday at Charleston Health Care Center.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Larry Caudill

Graveside services for Larry Caudill, 48, of Alta Avenue, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Mike Cox.
