LANCASTER - Garrard Fiscal Court is moving to Monday nights.
Magistrates, on a suggestion from the audience Tuesday morning, voted to switch their meetings to 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month. The first night meeting in the courthouse will be May 10.
Doug Bean, who lives on Fisher Ford Road, told magistrates that night meetings would be more accessible to working people and encourage greater public participation.
"I think it's worth trying," said Magistrate Walter "Tiddle" Hester, who suggested the court could do it for two or three months to gauge public participation and reaction.
