Isn't George a cutie? He may have some yellow Labrador retriever in him and will probably grow up to be a medium-sized adult.
He is one of the many pups available for adoption this week from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society animal shelter. Dogs include two male Rottweilers and a retriever mix. There are also several kittens and a few cats, including a Siamese mix that has been spayed and declawed.
The adoption fee for both cats and dogs is $60, which includes feline leukemia test for cats, spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations and de-worming, rabies shot and state dog tag. To view many of the animals available for adoption, check the DBCHS Web site at www.homes4pets.org.
The animal shelter, located on the bypass beside the fairgrounds, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 238-1117 or e-mail email@example.com.
