Woman arrested on burglary charge

Police arrested a Danville woman Tuesday after investigating a burglary at Danville Family Practice at 416 W. Walnut St. the same day. According to the police report, victims Leann Brown and Andrea Wren reported someone stole their purse and wallet at 5:30 p.m.

Connie Wilson, of 401 Walnut St., was arrested and charged with burglary for allegedly walking into the nurse's room and stealing the items. The purse was recovered but the wallet was not. Derek Robbins was the arresting officer, while Joedy Gilliland II took the initial report and Sgt. Patrick McQueen conducted the investigation.

Truck driver injured in crash

HUSTONVILLE - A tractor trailer driver sustained minor injuries on Tuesday after his truck slid off the road and overturned.

According to state police, William C. Perry, 51, of Science Hill, was traveling east on Ky. 78 when the 1999 International tractor trailer slipped off the right side of the road. Perry reportedly overcorrected before overturning on the left shoulder of the road. The truck struck a fence line and came to rest on the passenger side.


Perry was transported to Fort Logan Hospital with a bruise to his right hand, reported police.

Mercer man arrested after car chase

HARRODSBURG - Anthony James Sawyer, 30, of 600 Manns Road, is being held in Boyle County Detention Center on multiple charges after a car chase with members of the Harrodsburg Police Department Tuesday evening.

Sawyer's vehicle was stopped by Officer Jason Eldridge on Ky. 152 at the rock quarry for reckless driving at about 6 p.m.

As the officer walked toward the stopped vehicle, the driver sped off and was followed by Eldridge in his cruiser. Sawyer eventually lost control of his vehicle near Moores Lane and wrecked it. The suspect was thrown from the vehicle in the accident.

Sawyer was treated and released at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and taken to the police station where he was charged with reckless driving, third offense driving under the influence of intoxicants, no seat belts, no insurance, first-degree evading police in a motor vehicle, third offense driving with license suspended for DUI, possession an open alcoholic beverage container and an outstanding warrant from Boyle County.

His bond has been set at $12,000 cash bond for the Mercer County charges and a $2,000 cash bond on the Boyle County charge.

Mercer man faces drug charges

HARRODSBURG - Donald R. McPherson, 38, of 290 Horn Lane, was arrested by Officer Jason Elder for alcohol intoxication Saturday night at West Lane Park. In a search of the suspect, officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of both items and taken to Boyle County Detention Center from which he was later released on 10 percent of $4,000 bond.

Police investigate tool theft

HARRODSBURG - Eric Stratton, 34, of 706 Cane Run St., has reported to police that someone took a Black and Decker skill saw valued at $69 and a Black and Decker power drill valued at $89 from the front area of his garage.

The theft occurred early in the morning on April 9. Sgt. Terry Cornish is the investigating officer.
