Rebels lose 10-0

LEXINGTON - Boyle County committed six errors and gave up seven unearned runs in a 10-0 five-inning loss to Lexington Catholic Thursday.

"You just can't give a team like Lexington Catholic five outs in an inning," Boyle coach David Camic said. "They'll make it hurt. That happened in the first inning. We gave them five outs, and they scored four runs where they probably would have gotten none."

Catholic ace Taylor Brooks picked up the win for Catholic (7-3), striking out 10 in five innings and giving up one single to Andrew West.

Boyle (6-6) had two other players reach base, one on an error and one on a walk.

Andrew Bertram took the loss for Boyle, striking out five.

"He pitched well," Camic said.

"He had good velocity. We've still got to score if we expect to win."

Boyle will try to regroup with a game today at Marion County, but Camic said his team will learn from Thursday's game.

"We're a young team, and it's tough learning against teams like Catholic," Camic said.

"They'll learn. They'll be better players at the end."
