The "Rebel Girls" is a brand new walking group comprised of Boyle County Schools central office staff.
Three of them participated in the "Walk-It-Off" program last year and wanted to be a part of it again. They recruited four others to join them.
Members of the Rebel Girls walking group are Brandi Carpenter, Judy Ellis, Diane Sullivan, Maureen Gilkey, Dana Lawhorn, Annita Witte and Phyllis Pelly. Gilkey's cholesterol level dropped last year and the others also experienced health gains.
The group will be walking together during their lunchtime at least three days each week through the end of June. Most days the walks will be in Millennium Park, but some will also be around the Boyle County football field. Four times around is equal to about one mile.
