The absurd comparison of national security and investments in Monday's Voice of the People must have a response.
After over 3,000 innocent citizens were murdered by a terrorist act against our country, President Bush declared war on terrorism and on any country that supports or harbors terrorists. The first task was removing the Taliban in Afghanistan. The presence of WMD programs in Iraq allegedly supported by the former administration, the UN, the history of neighboring wars, and their use on their own population. Also, Iraq allegedly was supporting and harboring terrorists (Al-Qaida). A fuselage for a large aircraft found near Baghdad was used for terrorist training. Weapons capable of traveling beyond the limitations set by the UN have been found in Iraq in the past year. Thousands upon thousands of mass graves, children in jail, rape rooms, and torture chambers clearly indicate to reasonable people that Iraq under Saddam Hussein was an evil place.
