If you're looking for a kitten, you won't find a cuter one than Sparkle.
She and her siblings, Stu and Stevie, are among the many kittens available this week from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society. There are also a few cats, including a beautiful long-haired female named Winnie.
Many puppies also are available, including a black Labrador retriever mix, Jack Russell mix and collie-chow mix.
The adoption fee for both cats and dogs is $60, which includes feline leukemia test for cats, spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations and de-worming, rabies shot and state dog tag. To view many of the animals available for adoption, check the DBCHS Web site at www.homes4pets.org.
The animal shelter, located on the bypass beside the fairgrounds, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call (859) 238-1117 or e-mail dbchs@searnet.com.
