McDowell Wellness Center Moonlight Mile is Friday

McDowell Wellness Center's 18th Annual Moonlight Mile will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McDowell Wellness Center, 1107 Ben Ali Drive. The one-mile event follows a course along Ben Ali Drive.

The event features three heats: Heat 1 for runners age 9 and under; Heat 2 for runners age 10 and up, and all walkers; and Heat 3 for runners completing the race in 6 minutes, 30 seconds and under. Age divisions for Heat 2 are: 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60- and-over.

Awards will be given to the first-place overall male and female runners and special awards will be presented to the top 18 runners. In addition, awards will be given to the first-, second- and third-place female and male runners in each age division, excluding overall winners and top 18 runners. All entrants 9 years and younger will receive an award.


Registration is $10 if received by Thursday, or $12 after that date. Those fees include a T shirt. Children and adults who do not want a T-shirt can pay $2 to participate in the race.

BCHS council seeking committee members

The school council of Boyle County High School is conducting committee signups for the 2004-2005 school year. Any parent of a BCHS student wanting to be a part of any committee may sign up in the high school office by May 3rd. The committees are: needs and planning, school climate, student services, and curriculum/instruction.

Kirkwood Baptist to hold revival

SALVISA - Kirkwood Baptist Church, Kirkwood Road, will have a revival Friday through Sunday. Services begin 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. A youth concert will be given at 7 p.m. Sunday. The evangelist is Michael West. Dwight Bastin will give testimony Saturday.


Foundations Festival - 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Boyle County High School cafeteria for a final planning meeting. All volunteers are encouraged to attend.
