STANFORD - Lincoln County had one of its most successful basketball seasons last year, and senior Chris Hart is moving onto another successful program.

Hart has decided to play his college basketball at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.

"They recruited me from the beginning," Hart said. "I took a trip up there over spring break and I really liked it."

Hanover finished last season with a 26-2 record, and finished 14-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. It was the fourth straight conference title for the Panthers, and they earned a second consecutive berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Hanover graduated just one senior, and Hart knows he'll have to work hard over the summer to break into the rotation.

"I'm going to try to work in the weight room this summer, work on my game, so I can get up there and play a little bit as a freshman," Hart said.

Hart made The Advocate-Messenger All-Area team last season, averaging 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while hitting 38.5 percent of his shots.

Lincoln coach Jeff Jackson said Hanover is the perfect choice for Hart.

"I think he'll fit in just fine. He's a super kid and a super player. He'll get a great education, and he'll be a great player for them," Jackson said.

Hart said he also considered Transylvania, Rhodes and Wittenberg.
