Danville resident Patsi Trollinger has received several writing honors in recent weeks.
Her manuscript, "Short Dozen," won first prize in the non-fiction category of a national writing competition sponsored by Smart Writers.com. The manuscript, which is targeted for children, features biographical sketches of short men and women who have changed the course of history.
SmartWriters.com is an online magazine devoted to children's literature. For the last two years, it has been named by Writer's Digest Magazine as one of the 101 Best Web Sites for Writers.
Also this month, Ladybug magazine published one of Trollinger's essays in its online edition for parents. Titled "The Bully Factor," the essay explores the problem of childhood bullies.
