JUNCTION CITY - Lightning Valley MotorSports Park will pay $10,000 to the winner of the Heavy Class at the first Ed Hall Memorial Race Saturday and Sunday.
The go-kart track, located three miles south of Danville, already has what is billed as the world's largest go-kart race each October when it pays $15,000 to the race winner.
This weekend's race is in memory of Hall. His team and driver, Darrell Johnson, won the first ever $10,000 race at Lightning Valley.
"Ed always had a smile and a handshake for everybody," said track owner Ed Hasty. "This race is for Ed's family and friends. Lightning Valley hopes to give something back to a man who was a class act."
