Search on for Casey County man

April 28, 2004

LIBERTY - Authorities are searching for a Casey County man who has a heart condition and has not been seen for 10 days.

Cecil Jeffrey Luttrell, 45, of Dry Fork Creek Road in the Windsor community, was reported missing by a neighbor this week when he noticed the door to Luttrell's residence was open, according to Deputy Sheriff Freeman Luttrell, who is not related.

Cecil Jeffrey Luttrell has not been seen or heard from by his family since April 17 when an uncle talked with him.

"He doesn't usually go off without telling someone," said the deputy sheriff. The missing man apparently left home on foot. No one knows what he was wearing. No medicine was found at the residence.

Luttrell is described as 6 feet tall, weighs about 235 pounds, has long brown hair, a beard and mustache.

The sheriff's department, volunteer firefighters and members of the Disaster and Emergency Services searched the Windsor area Tuesday.

"We've searched on foot and all-terrain vehicle in the area where he lived on Dry Fork Creek," the deputy said. "We looked in creeks and drainage areas, in the woods and ridge tops. We've looked all around since we did not have a direction of travel.

"We've done all we know to do at this point," said the deputy sheriff.

Anyone having an information about the disappearance of Luttrell is asked to call Casey County Sheriff's Department at (606) 787-6821.
