Marijuana found in Casey County

LIBERTY - Casey County Sheriff's Department found 13 marijuana plants Wednesday and Thursday in two different spots in the county, Sheriff Jerry Coffman said.

Richard C. Peyton, 34, of 657 Vallard Goode Road, was charged with cultivation of less than five marijuana plants after police reportedly discovered three plants growing beside his garage Thursday evening, said Coffman.

Eleven marijuana plants were discovered Wednesday at a residence on Chicken Gizzard Ridge; however, no arrests have been made. Coffman said charges are pending.


Man reports injuries from assault

HARRODSBURG - City police are investigating a case of assault against Kent Lunsford, 42, of 730 Lark St.

Lunsford reported that a person he knows struck him in the face with fists, causing minor injuries.

Pair arrested after traffic stop

HARRODSBURG - Kethandra Austin, 23, of 59 Herrington Haven, Lancaster, was stopped by city police recently for possibly driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Austin permitted a search of the vehicle and police found a cigarette pack containing a marijuana cigarette. She was charged with possession of marijuana and released on bond.

William Crossfield, 20, of 603 Ada Drive, Lancaster, was found to have two outstanding Garrard County warrants and was arrested and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center where he is being held on a bond of $1,288.
