BURGIN - Mercer County took advantage of nine Burgin errors to beat the Bulldogs 15-3 in five innings Thursday.
Mercer scored 11 runs in the first three innings and added four more in the top of the fifth for the win.
"This was a very uncharacteristic night for us," Burgin coach Matt Grimes said. "We struggled at the plate, we struggled in the field and we struggled on the pitcher's mound. Mercer played a really good ballgame, but it's as if we took a step backwards tonight."
Burgin (5-7) scored one run in each of the first three innings.
Taylor Bottoms took the loss for the Bulldogs.
