WASHINGTON - East Casey County Water District will receive a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Congressman Ed Whitfield announced Tuesday.
The money will be used to complete construction of 63 miles of new water lines and five booster pump stations. The new additions will improve service and provide service to 300 new users in rural Casey County.
The county had received a low-interest loan of $406,000 and a $244,000 grant in 2002 for the same project.
The funds are provided through USDA's Rural Development program.
