STANFORD - Pulaski County's six-run fourth inning doomed Lincoln County to a 9-7 loss Thursday.
Lincoln (6-13) trailed 9-0 after Pulaski's big inning, which included four Lincoln errors. The Lady Patriots scored three times each in the fifth and sixth innings to pull within 9-7 but got no closer.
"We made far too many errors in (the fourth) inning," Lincoln coach Pam Young said. "We just got our momentum going too late. I'm proud of our comeback. They showed a lot of fight."
"We just decided to pick it up after we had the horrendous inning. It kind of woke us up."
Becky Schuler was 3-for-3 for Lincoln with two doubles and an RBI. Jessica Stringer and Kendra Garris had two hits each - Stringer had a double; Garris had a triple - and Jenny Ralston and Sarah Fitzpatrick had one each.
