Other area singles players who advanced to the quarterfinal round were Sky Shannon of Harrodsburg, who won tiebreakers in both sets of a three-hour match in the third round and CeCe Witten of Boyle County.
In the doubles draw, the No. 2 teams from both Boyle (Emily Rigney and Amanda Alford) and Danville (Jenni Hawn and Rachel Ricker) reached the quarterfinals.
