LIBERTY - Hundreds of people walked around the horse show ring Friday night at the Central Kentucky Ag/Expo to raise money for Casey County's Relay for Life. The fund-raiser is within $750 of its $60,000 goal.
Rachyl Cundiff, chairwoman, expects to reach the goal in the next few days. She said people have made pledges for the money.
"Everything went wonderful," Cundiff said. Between 70 and 80 people stayed the night. The 12-hour relay had 24 teams, seven more than last year, she said. Music was held throughout the event.
More than 200 people, including 79 cancer survivors, turned out for a reception that kicked off the event.
The Rev. Larry Davis, pastor of First Baptist Church, was speaker for the 7 a.m. sunrise service Sunday.
"The community was wonderful and very supportive," said Cundiff.
