Inter-County Energy blood drive

is Wednesday

Inter-County Energy will hold a blood drive 8-11 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Central Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile. Donors must be 17 years of age or older, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. The donation process takes less than an hour, with the donation itself lasting 10 minutes. All donors Wednesday will receive a free t-shirt. Central Kentucky Blood Center provides blood to 65 hospitals in 61 kentucky counties. For more information, call (800) 775-2522.

Excite Nite 2004 is Thursday

CRAB ORCHARD - Family Connections Family Resource Center will host Excite Nite 2004 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Crab Orchard Elementary School gym. Activities include live music by Shane Eldridge & The Desert Wind Band, free pony rides, alpaca petting zoo, puppet show, karate demo and food. LCHS Project Graduation

is May 24

STANFORD - Lincoln County High School seniors are welcome to participate in Project Graduation at the school 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 24. This is a drug and alcohol free party. The committee needs several volunteers to help chaperone. Food donations also are needed for the event. More than $5,000 in gifts will be given to the graduates. Red Cross offers volunteer training

The American Red Cross will offer training 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and May 25 for persons who wish to become family service volunteers. This class will train individuals to provide family service in the form of Red Cross vouchers for essential needs to victims of disaster, such as single family fires or a broader disaster such as a tornado. Attendance at both classes will earn a certification as a Amercian Red Cross Family Service volunteer Volunteers who wish only to work in their local areas may learn the basics of completing the vouchers and work in the local chapter by attending the May 25 session only. The chapter serves Mercer, Boyle and Casey counties, and volunteers from all three counties are urged to attend. To register for the class, call (859) 236-6538.

BCHS Baccalaureate Service

Boyle County High School Class of 2004 will hold a baccalaureate service 7 p.m. May 23 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. The speaker will be Scotty Clenney, a former Boyle County High School teacher.

Boyle County Personnel Committee - 9 a.m. Monday in the fiscal court meeting room in the courthouse.

Casey County Extension District Board - 1 p.m. Wednesday in the county Cooperative Extension Service office on U.S. 127 South.

Casey County Extension Council - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cooperative Extension Service office on U.S. 127 South.

Casey Fiscal Court - 5 p.m. Monday in the circuit courtroom at the Courthouse.

Danville Board of Education - 7 p.m. Monday at Jennie Rogers Elementary School. Agenda includes consideration of a tentative budget.
