The Danville/Boyle County/KSD Community Education Program asks citizens to show their support for the youth of Danville, Perryville, Junction City and Boyle County by mounting a license plate message on the front bumper of their cars.
The message, Danville/Boyle County, Community of Promise, features the red wagon logomark and is designed to raise awareness of the local plan to support youth as advocated in the national initiative, America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth.
"Our local plan to provide America's Promise has done so much for young people, and we want to be able to continue these efforts," said Kathy Belcher, community education director.
"Our federal grant ends this summer, so we are searching for ways to continue our after-school and mentoring programs. The license plates we are promoting cost us about $2 per plate to produce, so all that is donated beyond that amount goes directly to Boyle's Plan to provide America's Promise. We hope the message will encourage more people to join this initiative."
