BARBOURVILLE - Former Boyle County High School golfer Taryn Jacobus will be playing in the NAIA Championships for the second straight year.
Union is one of 23 teams that qualified for the national tourney at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., May 25-28. The tourney is a 72-hole event with no cuts.
Union is ranked 19th nationally and was one of 13 at-large qualifiers for the tournament.
Union placed 20th last year in its first trip to the national tournament and returns all five golfers, including Jacobus, a junior. Other team members are seniors Morgan Inkster and Adrienne Horna, juniors Lauren Wallace and Amanda Collins, and freshman Dudley McKenna.
"They have really had a good year and are definitely a Top 20 team deserving of a trip to nationals," Union coach Larry Inkster said. "Having been there before, I hope we won't have the opening round jitters that we had last year."
