Thanks for supporting Godly Play conference

May 17, 2004

Dear Editor:

On April 22-24, The Presbyterian Church of Danville hosted its second National Godly Play Teacher Training Conference. The 25 participants from five states were made keenly aware of the generosity of our city and county. Housing provided once again by Comfort Suites got rave reviews as did the catering by The Toy Box. Local businesses, banks, the Chamber of Commerce, the Heart of Danville, the mayor, McDowell Place and Centre College provided things for "goodie bags" that showed that the people of Danville and Boyle County wanted these people to feel welcomed and pampered while they were here.

Once again, we should be proud of a community that opens its arms to those who come here for events such as this. On behalf of the members and staff of The Presbyterian Church of Danville and all who attended, we want to publicly say a big thank-you to everyone for helping to make this conference such a success.

We also want to thank The Advocate-Messenger for the article that appeared in the paper the day before the conference began. This, too, showed the participants that events such as this are important to our community.
