Former Danville City Manager Steve Biven has been appointed to a position in the Kentucky Finance Department.
He began work on May 12.
Biven is the director of the division of real properties. He handles the sale, disposal and lease of state property. His division assists state agencies to fulfill space and property needs.
Biven was forced out of his position as city manager by a faction of the Danville City Commission in April 2003, his resignation accepted in a split vote.
The reasons he was asked to resign have never been made public.
The city took nearly a year to fill the position. It hired Darrell Blenniss, who started work in March. Assistant City Manager Bridgette Milby was interim city manager, and has now returned to the assistant city manager position.
