Woman held on drug charges

HARRODSBURG - Marion Charlene Summers, 48, of Harrodstown Motor Inn Room 214, is being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on drug charges following her arrest May 13.

Members of the Harrodsburg Police Department were called to the motel to deal with a possible domestic dispute. When they arrived, they were told there were illegal drugs in Room 213. Summers said there were no illegal drugs except prescription medications and gave consent for officers to search the room, according to a police department press release.

During the search, officers found marijuana cigarettes, drug paraphernalia and what officers believe is methamphetamine. Summers remains in the Danville lockup on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is set at 10 percent of $7,000.


Officer Jason Eldridge is the investigating officer. He was assisted by Officers Scot Elder and Josh Devine.

Two injured in Casey traffic crash

LIBERTY - Two people were injured Tuesday in a traffic accident on Lee Graham Road, state police said.

Don Edwards, 39, of Liberty, and Amanda Singleton, 28, of Hustonville, were injured. Edwards was treated and released at Casey County Hospital. Singleton was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville for treatment, state police said.

The accident occurred as vehicles driven by Hubert P. Skipper III, 36, of Liberty, and Singleton hit head-on in a curve as Skipper was driving north and the Singleton auto was headed north.

Edwards, a passenger in the Skipper auto, was not wearing a seat belt. Singleton was wearing a seat belt.
