Lincoln County committed 11 errors in the field and managed only one hit at the plate as it lost its regular-season finale to No. 20 South Laurel Friday at Stanford.
Lincoln coach Pam Young said the Lady Patriots (11-14), whose five-game winning streak was halted, were not sharp one night after a 10-inning win over Garrard County.
"We didn't hit. South Laurel has a really good pitcher, and we were exhausted, I think, from the night before ... and we weren't in a very good state of mind at the plate or in the field," Young said.
"We really weren't focused, and South Laurel took advantage of all the errors we made."
Lincoln's only hit was a double by Kendra Garris. Thirteen batters struck out against South Laurel pitcher Kayla Baker.
The Lady Cardinals (29-5) got only four hits off Lincoln's Jana Crabtree, who walked five batters and struck out three.
