I got an e-mail today I wish all on the city commission could read and see the pictures, then maybe then they wouldn't be so quick to deny the police chief the $500 he wanted for a parade to honor our veterans and our military.
I'll try to condense it: "In every generation there have been those who answered the call to defend freedom, oppose tyranny and free the oppressed. All gave some, some gave all. They were with us then and they are with us now. They love, they prepare, they comfort, they yearn, they fight, they pray and sometimes they die."
The bottom line is that our commissioners wouldn't have the freedom to be on the city commission without the veterans who were there for us when we needed. I'm sure if they looked they could find $500 somewhere for the chief so he could go ahead with plans for a parade to honor all of our veterans. However if they can't, I have called the mayor's office and informed them I would donate the $500.
