Kerry an active, proud promoter of abortion

May 26, 2004

Dear Editor:

I read that, suddenly, John Kerry is open to nominating anti-abortion judges to the Supreme Court as long as it doesn't lead to the overturning of 1973's Roe v. Wade. I smell a (lying) rat who is trying to get a few moderate votes, just as he does with his "personally opposed to abortion" baloney. Make no mistake, John Kerry and his voting record have made it clear that he is pro-abortion in its most zealous form.

I think we all know now that he voted against the partial-birth abortion ban and the unborn victims of violence act (which he voted against to protect abortion rights). NARAL has given him a 100 percent pro-abortion voting record and at a NARAL dinner last year, he announced:

* "There is no packing the courts with judges who will be hostile to choice" (translation: no pro-life judges and no judges who respect the Constitution and don't legislate from the bench).

* "There is no denial of choice for poor women in the United States" (translation: abortions paid with your tax dollars).

* "And there are no more cutbacks on population control efforts around the world" (translation: promoting abortion as population control).

* "We need to take on all the forces of intolerance on this issue" (translation: those opposed to killing the innocent unborn are intolerant).

These are the words of an active and proud promoter of abortion, not someone who is "personally opposed." Kerry considers abortion a needed "medical procedure" so why would he "personally oppose" it?

NARAL and the other pro-abortion groups need not worry about their man slipping in his convictions. He's even told his own church to take a hike when counseled on his anti-life stance. No, he has made it very clear where he stands. John Kerry is pro-abortion and will remain so at any cost.
