HARRODSBURG - Members of the Harrodsburg High School Class of 2004 received their diplomas Sunday afternoon in a ceremony at Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Betty Sims, supervisor of instruction in the Harrodsburg school system, was the commencement speaker.
Sims, who has been with the graduates in one capacity or another since their kindergarten days, urged them to make a difference with their lives.
She spoke of the characteristics of success and named members of the class who already possess those qualities. Those qualities include hard work, dependability, living your dreams, living life with passion and living life sunny side up.
Speeches by Valedictorian Robbie Merriman and Salutatorian Katie Hudson touched on some of the qualities mentioned by Sims.
Hudson, who spoke first, said, "We have never been known as the class full of best friends, but as the class full of individuals that wish to pursue their own dreams. Now is your chance to show your classmates what your dreams entail. Do not allow anyone or any obstacles to stand in the way of your goals."
