Governor Fletcher published his boastfiul diatribe Wednesday 5-26-04 in several newspapers. I read it with some amusement. In this self serving invective he brags about all he is doing, has done or will do to make Kentucky "the kind of place where dreams come true." He also is very quick to blame Democrats and liberals for everything that is wrong, was wrong or may go wrong in Kentucky.
He fails to mention that just one day prior his "vision for Kentucky," resulted in the firing of three good state parks employees and the resignation of their supervisor, simply because they did not conform to his preconceived notions of what parks employees should look like. Two of these fired employees were single mothers and the third was a veteran of the United States Navy. They were fired for having tattoos, body piercing and shirts tails out.
This is typical of the exclusive elitist attitude exhibited by every conservative I have met. If an individual doesn't look, act and think as they do then the individual is pushed out.
